Estee Lauder Rallies Malaysia for Breast Cancer in October

2026-10-09

October turns a lot of things pink, but the point of the colour is easy to lose. The Estee Lauder Companies Malaysia is using its 2026 Breast Cancer Campaign to put a plainer idea at the centre of it: breast care is self-care, and the small habits that protect your health belong in the same routine as everything else you do for yourself.

The campaign is the local chapter of a movement that goes back to 1992, when Evelyn Lauder co-created the Pink Ribbon and founded the company's Breast Cancer Campaign. More than three decades on, the Estee Lauder Companies and its charitable foundation have committed over $182 million to breast cancer work worldwide. This year in Malaysia, the focus is on turning that awareness into something you can actually do, in support of three local organisations: the National Cancer Society Malaysia, Cancer Research Malaysia and the Breast Cancer Welfare Association Malaysia.

Lace up for the Pink Charity Run

The most hands-on way to take part is the Pink Charity Run 2026, held with JomRun on 18 October at Taman Tasik Titiwangsa. It is built as an inclusive community event, so you can run, jog or simply walk the route, and all ticket proceeds go to the National Cancer Society Malaysia to help individuals and families affected by cancer. It is the kind of morning that is easy to bring friends or family along to, which is rather the point. If a community health morning is your thing, it sits nicely alongside events like the Women's Wellness Festival in KL.

A serum that gives everything back

If you would rather give than run, Estee Lauder stores nationwide are carrying the Pink Ribbon Advanced Night Repair Serum in the 50ml size, and 100% of the proceeds from each bottle go to Cancer Research Malaysia and the Breast Cancer Welfare Association Malaysia. It is the same hero serum we have written about in our look at the Advanced Night Repair line, this time wearing a cause. Through October the campaign is also working with local content creators and advocates to keep the conversation about early detection going.

Five habits worth keeping

Beyond the events, the campaign leans on guidance from the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, and it is refreshingly un-dramatic. Know your risks, and talk to your doctor about your personal and family history. Know what is normal for you, so you notice a change early. Stay up to date on screenings for your age and risk. Keep up the everyday habits that help, like regular movement, a healthy weight and limiting alcohol. And keep the conversation going with the people you love, because normalising it is half the work.

None of it is complicated, and that is the message. Breast cancer is still the most commonly diagnosed cancer among women, and the strongest thing most of us can do about it is make a few small checks a normal part of looking after ourselves. You can read more about the global campaign on the Estee Lauder Companies' Breast Cancer Campaign page. This October, pick one thing on the list and actually do it.
