UVACO Opens in Malaysia With Taiwan Biotech Wellness
Malaysians who reach for a supplement to steady their immunity or top up their energy have a new name to weigh up. UVACO, a Taiwanese biotechnology wellness brand, has opened its first office in Malaysia and made the country the launchpad for a wider push across Southeast Asia.
What has opened
UVACO set up its Malaysian base in Bangsar South, Kuala Lumpur, on 17 August 2026. It is the brand's first office outside Taiwan. UVACO Malaysia is a subsidiary of UVACO Global and is backed by Grape King Bio, a Taiwanese biotechnology group with more than 50 years in research and manufacturing. Its opening line-up spans health supplements, nutrition and everyday wellness products.

The company is framing Malaysia as both a market in its own right and a gateway to the rest of the region, with plans to build out member services, training and partner support from the Kuala Lumpur base.
Why Malaysia, and why now
Local interest in preventive health has been climbing, and UVACO is aiming straight at it. A 2026 Malaysia Supplement Market survey by Vodus Research found immunity (55 percent) and energy (43 percent) were the two most common reasons Malaysians take supplements today. That is the gap the brand wants to fill, with a research-led pitch rather than another shelf of generic pills.
The launch also sits inside a bigger trade story. The opening ceremony drew representatives from the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office and the Taiwan External Trade Development Council, a sign of how seriously Taiwanese consumer brands are treating Malaysia as a regional base. It fits a run of "from within" wellness launches locally, from Ever Collagen's holistic range at Watsons to functional-drink spots like The Elixir's kombucha bar in Sunway Pyramid.
What UVACO is promising
"We look forward to growing steadily in Malaysia and building UVACO into a brand that Malaysian families can trust," said Grace Tseng, chief executive of UVACO Global. The brand leans on a "Life at Its Fullest" tagline and says its formulations draw on Grape King Bio's research and manufacturing. Marco Chen, general manager of UVACO Malaysia, said the local team would work with government bodies, industry associations and partners to build a business that is both locally rooted and regionally minded.
Availability
UVACO has not yet detailed its full Malaysian product range or pricing. For now the brand is operating from its Bangsar South office, with its line-up and RM pricing still to be confirmed as it rolls out to shoppers.
The takeaway
This is a market-entry story more than a product one for the moment, but it adds another serious wellness name to a Malaysian market that is clearly hungry for one. The thing to watch is what actually lands on shelves, and at what price.
