NEW ERA Debuts RUNNER ERA, Its First Running Line
NEW ERA is best known for the fitted cap on a baseball diamond, but its newest collection points somewhere sweatier. With RUNNER ERA, the label is stepping into the running category for the first time, bringing more than a century of cap-making to a lineup built for the road and the training floor.
The emphasis here is performance over polish. Every piece is cut from ultra-lightweight stretch polyester and finished with SolarEra sun protection, moisture-wicking fabric and vents placed to keep air moving. These are caps meant to be worn hard, whether that is a dawn run or a high-intensity session in the Malaysian heat.

The collection opens with three key styles. The 9FORTY UNST unstructured running caps, in black and navy, pair a lightweight stretch-polyester crown with wraparound mesh panelling for breathability and a clean New Era wordmark across the front. It is an easy pick for daily runs that doubles as everyday wear.
For anyone who trains once the sun is down, the RUNNER Reflective caps add large mesh side panels for airflow and reflective piping to help drivers and other runners pick you out in low light, with a subtle "1920" heritage embroidery at the back nodding to the brand's founding year. Rounding out the range are three new RUNNER colourways with laser-cut ventilation panels and colour-blocked designs that lean into the technical look.

It is a familiar move for sportswear brands chasing the runner's wardrobe, a space adidas has been pushing locally with its Originals Sport line and one that retailers such as JD Sports have leaned into with sport-led pop-ups. NEW ERA's angle is heritage: the same headwear craft it has practised for over a hundred years, retooled for people who sweat in their caps.
Selected pieces from RUNNER ERA are available now, in stores and online through the official New Era Malaysia store. The brand has not published ringgit pricing for the full range at launch.
