Dusit Thani Bangkok Adds Family Workshops and Sunrise Yoga
Bangkok rewards travellers who go past the postcard stops, and Dusit Thani Bangkok is giving guests more reasons to linger at the hotel itself. The property, one of the city's original modern luxury hotels, has added a run of cultural, wellness and dining experiences aimed at families and adults alike, all a short walk from Lumphini Park.
For families
Children can join a complimentary Thai writing workshop that walks through the fundamentals of the abugida script, from consonants and vowels to the four tone diacritics, ending with each child writing their own name. Families can also play Dusit Monopoly: Bangkok Edition, a bespoke version of the board game that swaps in landmarks like the Grand Palace, Wat Pho and Chatuchak Weekend Market, with the hotel itself on the board. A set costs THB 1,395 net to take home.
For adults
At Devarana Wellness, the one-on-one Discover Your Signature Colours session (from THB 2,890 net) pairs guests with a certified colour analyst who uses the 12-season system to recommend makeup, hair colour and wardrobe choices suited to their features. For a quieter activity, the Mindfulness Flower Arrangement Workshop (THB 1,990 net per person) blends Japanese floral technique with Zen principles as guests arrange seasonal blooms.
Early risers can join a complimentary Sunrise Yoga at Spire, a gentle practice held on the hotel's sky level beneath its golden spire, before the city below fully wakes up.
Where the food fits in
Just steps away in the heritage Baan Dusit Thani enclave, Benjarong serves Thai recipes dating from the 1800s to the 1930s in a restored residence, while the Michelin Bib Gourmand-recognised Thien Duong continues the enclave's regional cooking. Both sit alongside the hotel's existing children's activities, including traditional Thai dance and mini Muay Thai.
