Vietjet Eco Fares From RM268 as Asia Network Expands

Vietjet Eco Fares From RM268 as Asia Network Expands

2026-10-28

If a year-end trip to Vietnam is on your list, there is a short window to lock in a cheap seat. Vietjet has opened promotional Eco fares from RM268 one-way out of Kuala Lumpur, and the price already includes taxes and fees, so the number you see is close to the number you pay.

The fares cover direct flights from Kuala Lumpur to three of Vietnam's biggest cities: Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang. The catch is timing. Booking is open only from now until 1 November 2026, though the travel window is generous, running from 1 November 2026 all the way to 31 October 2027. That leaves room to plan around the school holidays, Chinese New Year or a trip later in the year. Vietjet says the promotional fares also apply across its Vietnam domestic and international flights.

What the Vietjet RM268 deal covers

New routes open up more of Asia

The sale lands alongside two network changes worth knowing about if you like to plan a trip with a connection built in. Vietjet has just launched a new Hanoi to Tainan route into southern Taiwan, and brought back direct flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Chiang Mai in northern Thailand. Each of the two services runs four return flights a week.

For a Malaysian traveller, more routes out of the Vietnamese hubs means more ways to turn a Vietnam flight into a wider trip. A Ho Chi Minh City booking can now pair with Chiang Mai, and Hanoi connects onward to Tainan, a quieter alternative to Taiwan's busier northern gateways.

Beyond these additions, Vietjet's wider network reaches destinations such as the Maldives from Ho Chi Minh City, Cebu from both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, Clark in the Philippines from Ho Chi Minh City, Almaty from Hanoi and Prague from Hanoi. Island escapes, nearby city breaks and a European option all sit on the same map, which is useful if you are planning several trips rather than one.

How it compares

Fixed-price airline sales have become a regular part of the travel calendar. This one echoes Vietjet's earlier RM268 fare run to Vietnam, which carried the same starting price on the Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City routes. Rivals have been just as active: AirAsia MOVE ran a comparable flash sale across flights and hotels. Vietjet's version is built around a set starting fare on popular Vietnam routes rather than a platform-wide discount, so it suits travellers who already have Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City or Da Nang in mind.

Before you book

With booking closing on 1 November, the dates are the part to settle first. Eco is Vietjet's lowest fare tier, so check the baggage allowance, seat and change conditions against your plans before you pay, and compare the all-in total with other carriers on the same route. If Vietnam is already on your year-end list, the short window is the reason to decide sooner rather than later.
