Museum of Ice Cream Marks SG61 With Free Senior Entry and New Gelato

-

Singapore turns 61 this August, and the Museum of Ice Cream is marking the occasion with a birthday treat for its oldest guests and two new gelato flavours that lean hard into local taste.

From 7 to 11 August 2026, anyone aged 61 and above gets in free when they visit with a paying guest, so families can bring grandparents along for the National Day weekend without paying for a second ticket. The offer applies with every full-priced ticket purchased, and tickets are available at tickets.museumoficecream.sg.

Two gelato flavours built for a Singapore birthday

The bigger draw for many visitors will be the food. For a month, the Museum of Ice Cream is running a collaboration with Denzy Gelato and Berempah Bros, the label from Derek Cheong, winner of MasterChef Singapore Season 2. Together they have created two limited-edition gelatos that read like a hawker favourite in dessert form: a Coconut Gelato with Glutinous Rice, and a Sambal Gelato that brings a savoury, spicy kick to the scoop.

Both flavours are the kind of playful, local-first idea the museum tends to build its seasons around, and they are only here for the collaboration window, so August is the month to try them.

Storytelling and ice cream classes for families

Beyond the scoops, the museum has lined up activities through the month. On 8 August, local author Mark Lim hosts a storytelling session of “Me and My Monster” from 4pm to 5pm, a gentle pause for younger visitors. On 9 and 10 August, the museum runs ice cream making classes where guests learn the science behind how ice cream is made, which is about as close as a dessert outing gets to a lesson.
