Burger King's Whopper Is RM6.90 for One Day This Merdeka

2026-08-26

There are Merdeka deals, and then there is a five inch flame grilled burger for less than the price of a teh tarik and a snack. Burger King Malaysia is marking the nation's 69th Merdeka by putting its Signature Whopper on the menu at RM6.90 a la carte, for one day only on 31 August 2026.

The Whopper is the burger Burger King built its name on: a 100 percent flame grilled beef patty stacked with freshly cut onions, ripe tomatoes, crisp lettuce and tangy pickles, the same generous build Malaysians have been ordering for years. For one day, that familiar favourite comes at a price meant to get the whole country to the counter at once.

RM6.90, one day only

The offer runs on 31 August 2026 alone, at participating Burger King Malaysia outlets nationwide, through dine in, the self order kiosk, takeaway and drive thru. There is a small catch worth knowing before you drive out: it is not valid at airport outlets, Medini Mall, Sunway Lagoon, Mitsui Premium Outlets, Genting Premium Outlets or Johor Premium Outlets. Terms and conditions apply.

If you are making a meal of it, there is a second RM6.90 to know about. Buy any meal, excluding promotional items, and you can add a Kaya Pandan Pie and a soft drink for RM6.90, a local sweet note to round off the plate.

A burger built for a shared celebration

"For decades, the flame grilled Whopper has held a special place in the hearts of Malaysian food lovers," said Leong Huey Ying, Head of Marketing at Burger King Malaysia. "Celebrating our 69th Merdeka isn't just a milestone for the country, it's an opportunity for us to thank our customers by serving our signature Whopper at an accessible, celebratory price nationwide. At RM6.90 this 31 August, we hope to bring Malaysians together over the Whopper, a favourite so many of us already share."

Burger King first opened in Malaysia in 1997 and now runs more than 200 outlets nationwide under Cosmo Restaurants Sdn Bhd, which makes a one day, one price offer a genuinely national one rather than a big city treat.

How to get yours

Mark 31 August, pick your nearest participating outlet, and order the Signature Whopper a la carte for RM6.90 by dine in, kiosk, takeaway or drive thru.
