RIMOWA Original Suitcases Get Colour Handles and Wheels in KL
A silver RIMOWA Original is one of the most recognisable suitcases at any airport carousel, which is exactly why owners have long wanted a way to tell theirs apart. RIMOWA is now offering one. Its premium personalisation service, RIMOWA Unique, has been extended to the aluminium Original collection, and the colour parts are on sale in Malaysia from today, 4 November 2026.
Until now, RIMOWA Unique was only available for the brand's Classic range. The service lets travellers swap in coloured handles, wheels and leather address tags, and it works on both new and existing Original suitcases, so a case you already own can be refreshed rather than replaced.

What you can change
There are three parts to choose from, each offered in up to a dozen colours. Ten shades are permanent: Ocean, Clover, Cactus, Taupe, Cognac, Rose, Orchid, Paprika, Clementine and Sunflower. Two more, Grape and Cloud, are seasonal.
- Original Handle Set: handcrafted in Europe and wrapped in smooth, matte-finished cowhide leather, with a soft-return mechanism so the handle closes slowly and quietly. It fits the Original Silver Cabin, Check-in and Trunk sizes and is fitted in-store by a RIMOWA specialist.
- Unique Wheel Sets: built on RIMOWA's Multiwheel system and handcrafted in France. The D65 set fits the Original Check-in and Trunk, while the D50 set fits the Original Compact, Pilot and every Cabin size, as well as the Classic collection. RIMOWA says the wheels can be changed with a T20 screwdriver.
- Address Tag: made in Italy from full-grain cowhide leather, shaped like the Original case, colour-matched to the handles and wheels, with an adjustable strap and an address card that can be embossed.
Price and where to buy in Malaysia
The Original Handle Set has a recommended retail price of RM1,400. The D65 and D50 Wheel Sets are RM800 each, and the Address Tag is RM400. In Malaysia, RIMOWA says the parts are sold at its Pavilion Kuala Lumpur store, where trained specialists will fit them free of charge.
A holiday campaign made by hand
The launch comes with RIMOWA's Holiday 2026 campaign. A set of stills is out now, and a series of stop-motion films follows later this month. Each story plays out inside a personalised Original suitcase that opens onto a miniature world built from clay, paper, felt and wood, from a tidy office under a sign that reads "a life of no unread emails" to a window seat on a train and a painter's studio.

It is a gentle, gift-minded campaign, and it fits a year in which RIMOWA has kept stretching what its cases can be, from the limited-edition Aluminium Dartboard Case to the seasonal Essential and Groove colourways in Umber and Ultramarine.
The takeaway
For Original owners, this is the first official way to add colour without buying a new case. A RM400 address tag is the easy entry point, while a full handle and wheel swap adds up to RM2,200 or more before you have chosen a second colour. If your silver suitcase looks like everyone else's at baggage claim, a pair of Clementine wheels will fix that.
