If your K-drama list needs a new romance, Netflix has one lined up for August. Our Sticky Love, a Korean romantic comedy starring Jung Hae-in and Ha Young, has released its main trailer and poster ahead of a premiere on 7 August, streaming only on Netflix. For viewers working through a busy Netflix slate, it lands as a low-stakes, easy-watch romance to slot into the weekend.
The premise
Our Sticky Love follows Go Eun-sae (Ha Young), a prosecutor who wakes up in a strange rural hospital with all of her memories gone. Before she can make sense of anything, Jang Tae-ha (Jung Hae-in), a boxing coach, turns up and calmly claims to be her boyfriend. The two end up living together, and an odd arrangement in a small town slowly turns into a quirky, sweet romance.
The setting is Taffy Village in Gujin-gun, a quiet town lined with traditional taffy shops and full of peculiar residents. Tae-ha’s shabby look is nothing like Eun-sae’s usual taste, and the town feels alien to her, so she stays confused and finds it hard to trust a word her supposed boyfriend says. Amnesia romances are a familiar K-drama comfort zone, and this one adds a small-town-taffy twist to the formula.
Who is in it
Jung Hae-in and Ha Young carry the show, and the pair promise an offbeat love story built on easy chemistry and humour. Director Kim Jang-han keeps the pitch simple, calling it a “heart-warming, feel-good romantic comedy.” He describes a love that binds two people as tightly as sticky Korean taffy, the kind of pull you do not notice until you are already stuck.
What the trailer shows
The main trailer leans into that push and pull. Tae-ha’s warmth and steady affection slowly wear down Eun-sae’s defenses, and despite herself she starts to smile more around him. Then comes the catch: Tae-ha warns that no one can find out about them, a line that hints at a secret sitting under the romance. The trailer keeps the big questions open, including what he is hiding, why Eun-sae is said to be safest by his side, and what really happened to tie the two of them together.
The main poster sells the same idea in one image. Under the tagline “Sweetly Tangled, Hopelessly Stuck,” the two leads are pressed close against a soft, pastel small-town backdrop, a hint at the comfort-watch tone the series is going for.
