Malaysian pick-up buyers now have three fresh reasons to walk into a Ford showroom. Sime Darby Auto ConneXion-Ford, the sole Ford distributor in the country, has added the Ranger Platinum, Ranger Sport and Ranger XL to its line-up, giving work-truck, family and lifestyle buyers a clearer choice at three price points.
The three variants arrive as Ford confirms more than 24,000 of its latest Ford Rangers are now on Malaysian roads since the model’s 2022 debut, as of 1 July 2026. Prices in Peninsular Malaysia, on the road and without insurance, start from RM127,888 for the Ranger XL, RM145,888 for the Ranger Sport 2.0L, RM159,888 for the Ranger Sport 3.0L and RM205,888 for the Ranger Platinum.
Three Rangers, three jobs
Each variant is pitched at a different owner. The Ranger XL is the workhorse of the range, built for businesses and fleet operators, with a bold front face, durable wheels, a practical bed and six airbags around the cabin. The Ranger Sport targets everyday drivers who want performance with some style, offered with a 2.0L Turbo Diesel or a 3.0L V6 Turbo Diesel, an aggressive grille, 18-inch alloy wheels, two-tone seats and a digital instrument cluster. The 3.0L Sport gets full-time four-wheel drive, while the 2.0L uses a part-time system.
At the top sits the Ranger Platinum, powered by Ford’s 3.0L V6 turbo diesel that makes 250PS and 600Nm of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic. It adds a Platinum grille, 20-inch alloy wheels, an Acacia Green exterior option, quilted leather-accented seats with heating and ventilation for the driver and front passenger, and a Bang & Olufsen 8-speaker sound system.
What every Ranger shares
Across the range, the Ranger offers up to 1,000kg of payload, up to 3,500kg of towing capacity and up to 800mm of water-wading depth, with a 10-speed automatic, Electronic Shift-on-the-Fly and an Electromagnetic Transfer Case on the four-wheel-drive variants. Inside, buyers get a 12-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual-zone climate control and up to four USB charging ports, plus Ford’s driver-assist features and selectable drive modes.
More parts support for East Malaysia
Alongside the new models, Auto ConneXion-Ford has opened a Parts Hub in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, an extension of its Central Parts Hub in Shah Alam. The facility begins phased operations from 27 July 2026 and will stock about 1,000 fast-moving genuine Ford and Motorcraft parts, with same-day delivery for selected parts within the Kota Kinabalu area. It supports authorised Ford dealers across East Malaysia, part of a network of 33 dealer locations nationwide and nine sales and service touchpoints in East Malaysia.

The expanded line-up is open for booking at authorised Ford dealers nationwide. As a launch promotion, buyers of the Ranger XL or Ranger Sport 2.0L before 31 August 2026 receive a complimentary Ford Front HD1080p dashcam, while the Ranger Sport 3.0L and Ranger Platinum 3.0L come with a complimentary two-year Basic Extended Service Plan. Terms and conditions apply. Ford is also inviting owners and fans to its Ford Nation event on 1 August 2026, from 5pm to 10pm at Heritage Valley, Kuala Lumpur.
For most buyers, the takeaway is simpler choice: a Ranger tuned for the job site, one for the weekend and one for the family, now with closer parts support in the east.
