Citrawarna Speed Festival 2026 Comes to Putrajaya
If you are looking for something to do at the end of September, Tourism Malaysia has a big one lined up. The Citrawarna Speed Festival 2026 runs from 23 September to 4 October, it is free to attend, and it pulls together two things Malaysians rarely get in one place: motorsport energy and a full cultural celebration.
The festival spreads across three sites in the Putrajaya area: IOI City Mall in Putrajaya, Terminal 1 at KLIA, and the Sama-Sama Hotel. It sits inside the wider Visit Malaysia 2026 to 2027 campaign, so it is built for visitors and families as much as for locals.
Two festivals in one
Everything runs under two banners. Colours of Speed is the motorsport-inspired half, with attractions built around cars and racing culture. Colours of Art and Culture is the heritage half, with music, dance, traditional handicrafts and a headline Colours of Parade that Tourism Malaysia says will bring together around 1,500 performers.
That parade is the centrepiece, and it is the kind of thing that photographs beautifully, from the costumes to the sheer scale of it. If you enjoy Malaysia's other big public celebrations, from Merdeka season launches to the weekend events that fill the Klang Valley, this sits in the same tradition of turning a public space into a stage.
Who is behind it
The event is supported by a long list of partners, including IOI Properties, the National Department for Culture and Arts (JKKN), Istana Budaya, Kraftangan Malaysia and Malaysia Airports (MAHB), alongside Yes Travel and sponsors SNS Network, SDeal and HP.

Entry is free, the dates are 23 September to 4 October 2026, and the main sites are IOI City Mall Putrajaya, KLIA Terminal 1 and the Sama-Sama Hotel.
